Althouse George C. Althouse, of Rainbow, dropped dead at the time office of the McKee Construction company about 9:30 on Saturday night just as he reported for work. He was apparently in his usual health last night and did not complain when he started for work. After ringing in he suffered a sudden attack, slumped over and with a couple of minutes was dead. He was in his sixty-fifth year. Mr. Althouse was born and raised in Parkersburg and he lived around this section of the county all his life. For some time past he had operated a gasoline station at Rainbow, and last fall when the gasoline business dropped off he secured employment with the McKee Company. Surviving him are three daughters and two sons: Mrs. Mary Roy, of Detroit; Mrs. Olive D. Reed, of Parkesburg; Harvey Althouse, of Dundalk, Md; Roy Althouse, of Detroit, and Mrs. Sara McConnon, of Cleveland, Ohio. The funeral will take place from the Wilde Funeral Home in Parkesburg on Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock. Interment will be in Atglen Methodist cemetery. Friends have been invited to call at the funeral home on Tuesday evening. Additional Comments: Guessing date of death as 12/19/1942. Need to look to see what the date was for Saturday before 12/21/1942, the date of the article. This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/pafiles/ File size: 1.9 Kb
