Beecher Edward E Beecher, 83, of 201 Seltzer Ave., Caln Township, Coatesville, died at his home yesterday following a lengthy illness. The husband of Mary A. Gregg Beecher, he was born n Coatesville and had resided in the area his entire life. He was the son of the later Parris and Elizabeth Pheaton Beecher. Mr. Beecher was employed by the Downingtown Iron Co, where he had been a shipper for 23 years. He retired in 1951. He was a member of the Thorndale Fire Co. and Retired Men’s Club of Chester County. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Harold E., of Coatesville; a step-son, Edward H. Richards of Coatesville; three sisters, Mrs. Ruth Jackson of Chester, Nora, wife of Paul Smith of Claymont, Del., and Edna, wife of Benjamin Marsh of Coatesville; a brother James, of Coatesville; a step-brother Joseph Pyncheon of Coatesville; six grandchildren, and several great- grandchildren.
