Coatesville Record, April 5, 1949

Mrs. George W. Bird
Mrs. Margaret G. Bird, widow of the late George. W. Bird, died yesterday at 
her home, 52 South Fourth Avenue, in her 63rd year.  She suffered a stroke 
three weeks ago and she had been in a serious condition ever since.  Mrs. Bird 
was a daughter of the late John and Elizabeth McGinnis and was born in Glen 
Moore.  She had spent the most of her life in Coatesville, however.

Surviving her are a daughter, Elsie, wife of John Palumbo, of Coatesville; a 
step-daughter, Frances, wife of George Palumbo, of Bradford Hills, and three 
step-sons, George Bird, of New Orleans; Herbert Bird, of Downingtown; and 
Albert Bird, of Harrisburg; five grandchildren and the following sisters: Mrs. 
Mary Leber, of Harrisburg; Mrs. Katherine Welsh, of Atlantic City, and Miss 
Elsie McGinnis, of Coatesville.

The funeral will take place from Archie S Maclean’s funeral home, in this 
city, at 2 o’clock.  Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery.  Friends have 
been invited to call at the funeral home ___ Thursday evening.
