BURNS John Frederick Burns, 84, husband of Nora Spence Burns, of King Terrace Apartments, 300 High St., died Sunday at his home. Born in Prince Edward Island, Canada, he was a son of the late John and Anne Beaton Burns. He was a resident of Phoenixville for the past 15 years and had been employed in the maintenance department at the Ciba Company, Kimberton. A veteran, he served in the Canadian Army during World War I. Mr. Burns was a member of St. Mary’s Church. Surviving are his wife, two sons, John F. Burns, Jr. of Batesville, Ar., and Joseph W. Burns, of Second Ave., Royersford: three daughters, Theresa, wife of Joseph Raggazzino, 640 Nutt Rd; Mary Emma, wife of Gerald Jacobs, of Kimberton Springs Apartments, and Anita, wife of Allen Hoffman, of Pottstown; a sister in Boston, Mass., and eight grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Devlin & Rosmos Funeral Home, Main St., and Fourth Ave. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Mary’s Church at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Black Rock Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday 8:30 a.m. until the time of the mass.
