Coatesville Record, June 13, 1938

Mrs. Emma Burton, wife of Harry Burton, died at the home of her son, Elmer 
Hogan, 109 South Worthington Street, West Chester, yesterday.  She was the 
daughter of the late James and Louise J. Richardson and was born in Marshallton 
on February 12, 1880.  Besides the son with whom she lived he (sic) is survived 
by another son, a daughter, three brothers, one sister, two grand-children and 
numerous nephews and nieces.  The funeral will take place on Wednesday 
afternoon at 2 o’clock at St. Luke A.M.E. Church, West Chester, with interment 
at Chestnut Grove Annex Cemetery.
