Clemson, on Sunday afternoon, June 3d, 1894, John L. Burton (colored) aged about 60 years. Funeral on Tuesday afternoon. To meet at the house at 3 o’clock and proceed to Bethel A.M.E. Church. Ibid, June 5, 1894 John L. Burton, and aged colored man died at the residence of Mrs. Clemson, on Chestnut Street, this borough. Burton had been in Mrs. Clemson’s employ for some time, and his eyesight failing him that lady kept him until he died. He will be buried today. Ibid, June 8, 1894 Death Benefit Paid John F.L. Burton, a colored man whose funeral took place on Tuesday from the Bethel A.M.E. Church, was a member of the Limited Mutual Benefit Association of West Chester, and yesterday the death benefit amounting to $80, was paid to Mrs. Hannah /Clemson, who had been made the beneficiary by him. For many years past the deceased had been a servant in Mrs. Clemson’s employ. Morning Republican, June 6, 1894 BURTON- At the residence of Mrs. John B.
