Corey, father of Ellis Corey, former President of the United States Steel Corporation, who died at his farm near Thorndale, some moths ago, and which was taken to Philadelphia and placed in a receiving vault awaiting erection by the family of a mausoleum at Northwood Cemetery, this place, was on Saturday, brought here for interment. The remains were brought from Philadelphia upon an auto funeral car, accompanied by three auto funeral cabs, containing the friends of deceased. Upon reaching the cemetery the coffin containing the remains was carried to the mausoleum and placed upon a receptacle. The vault was sealed. Considerable difficulty was experienced by conveyances in ascending Uwchlan Avenue, which leads to the burying ground, owing to deep snowdrifts. An accident occurred to one of the vehicles which in pushing through on of the drifts, slid down an embankment upon the side of the road, causing a delay of over two hours before being extricated and able to proceed. Daily Local News December 29, 1910 Alfred Adams Corey At Onoatok, Thorndale, Alfred Adams Corey died yesterday at the age of about seventy-five years. He moved there three years ago when his son, William Ellis Cory, bought the old farm which had once been owned by President James Buchanan. Mr. Corey lived quietly, and was known in the neighborhood, but too little interest in affairs outside the home. Previously he had lived in Braddock, near Pittsburgh. For the past seven weeks he had been in poor health. He is survived by his wife, two sons and three daughters. The sons are William E., President of the Steel Trust; Alfred, of Pittsburgh; Ada, a daughter was married about two years ago to Dr. Charles Aufhamer, of Pittsburgh, and another daughter is the wife of Arthur Stanley Riggs, of New York City.
