Lewis R. Davis, of West Brandywine Township, husband of Alice Price Davis, 
passed away this morning, at seven o’clock, in his 77th year, after having been 
ill all summer.  A son of the late Markley and Annie Rettew Davis, he was born 
in Ligonier, Westmorland County, and lived all of his life in West Brandywine 
township, with the exception of fourteen years in Montana.  He was a retired 
farmer.  Surviving besides his wife, are two daughters, Frances, wife of Paul 
Schrack, of Pughtown, and Blanche E. Davis, at home.  Also, two grandchildren 
and three sisters, Mrs. Blanche Moore, of Coatesville; Miss Annie R. Davis, of 
Honey Brook; Mrs. Reese Price, of Avon, Montana, and a brother, Mark Davis, of 
Ovando, Montana.

DAVIS- in West Brandywine Township, on Tuesday, Sept 10, 1946, Lewis R. Davis, 
husband of Alice Price Davis, in the 78th year of his age.  Relatives and 
friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Ford Funeral 
Home, 231 East Chestnut St., Coatesville, on Friday, Sept. 13.  Services at 2 
p.m.  Interment in St. Mark’s Episcopal Cemetery.  Friends may cal at the 
funeral home, Thursday evening 7 to 9 o’clock.
