He was attached to the company of the late Captain Stell, of New London, in defending Baltimore City from the British invasion. Oxford Press, July 7, 1875 Soldier of 1812- John Drennen a soldier 1812 died on the 2nd inst. at his home in West Nottingham township. He served during the war of 1812 under the late Captain William Steel, of New London, in defending Baltimore City from invasion by the British, his company was located on the Border of the Town or what was called Gallows Hill.
