All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/pafiles.htm ************************************************ Daily Republican March 16 1940 E CLIFFORD EMERY E Clifford Emery 81 a former resident of spring city and a director and former secretary of Spring City National Bank and Trust company, died last night at 7:30 o'clock in Phoenixville Hospital. Mr Emery had been ill the past two weeks and was admitted to the hospital Monday. Death was attributed to complications following a stroke. Mr Emery was born in East Pikeland Township near Chester Springs a son of the late Jacob and Annie (nee Moses) Emery. He was the last of the immediate family. He operated a farm in West Vincent Township until he moved to spring City in 1918. He resided at Church and Chestnut Streets until the death of his wife six years ago. Since then he has resided with a daughter, Mrs. A C Roberts, of Kimberton. He was a member of St Peter's Lutheran Church Pikeland. Funeral services will be held at the A C Roberts home, Kimberton, Tuesday at 3 o'clock. Burial will be in Pikeland Lutheran Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral without further notice from the home of Mr and Mrs. A C Roberts, Kimberton, on Tuesday March 19 at 3 o'clock. Interment in Pikeland Lutheran Cemetery.
