He had been working in the great junk yard at Modena, where a strong acid is used in cutting the iron and steel beams into sizes, which can be handled in the furnaces. A little of this acid was by accident splashed upon hi ear and it immediately ate its way through the flesh and bone of the head, causing his death in about two days. He was forth-three years old and attended St. Cecelia’s Catholic Church, Coatesville. At Mortonville live his widow and their six children. The father, Edward Fanning, two brothers and a sister live on West Washington Street, this borough.
