Glading, Sr, 9, husband of the late Bertha Oppel Glading, former residents of Philadelphia and this city, died Monday evening at Chatham Acres Nursing Home, after a lengthy illness. Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Glading. He was a graduate of Lehigh University, School of engineering and also Cornell University where he received his Master’s degree. He was an electrical engineer and was associated with Thomas Edison fro approximately four ears following graduation from Cornell. He was later employed by General Electric Company and Westinghouse Electric Co., retiring in 1932. He was a member of St Clements Episcopal Church, Philadelphia; Central City Lodge No. 305 F&AM, of Syracuse, N.Y.; also the Consistory 32nd degree, Shrine, Commandery and Royal Arch Chapter of Syracuse. Surviving is a son, Frank W. Glading Jr., this city, and a granddaughter, Mrs. Maynard Shelton Jr., of Martinville, VA., and four great-grandchildren. Private funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. from the S. Paul Roberts funeral Home, 1030 E. Lincoln Hwy. Interment will be in Brandywine Manor Presbyterian Cemetery.
