Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral without further notice. Funeral meets at Bethel AME church on Wednesday afternoon at 3 o’clock. Interment at Chestnut Grove Cemetery. Daily Local News August 13, 1900 Mrs. Louisa Gladman, widow of the late John Gladman, died at her late residence on East Market Street at 12:30 o’clock yesterday afternoon in her 74th year. She had been afflicted for the past ten years with rheumatism and asthma, which finally caused her death. She had resided at her late residence for the last forty-eight years. She was an active worker in the Bethel AME Church all her life and was one of three oldest members of the church, the other two surviving her. She was also one of the members who selected the site for the church, and was the first Superintendent of the Sunday School. She leaves to mourn her loss two daughters and four sons, they being: Mrs. Mary Anderson Clayton, John Robert, of West Chester; Samuel, of Indiana, and Mrs. Marcella Jennings of New York.
