Coatesville Record May 24,1952

"Mrs.Davis D.Gray- Elie J.Gray, widow of the late Davis D.Gray, of 574 Harmony 
street, died yesterday in her 85th year. She had been in failing health since 
last January. Death was due to infirmaties of age.

 Mrs. Gray was the daughter of the late Lewis and Lacenda Williams Gray, and was 
born in Pembroke,Va. She resided in Modena from 1909 and 1934 since had been a 
resident of Coateville. While living in Modena she attended Hephzabah Baptist 
Church.

  Surviving her are two sons, Arthur B.Gray of Sparrows Point,Md.,and John 
L.Gray of Pembroke,Va, three daughters, Esther W.Collins, of Ohio, Mrs. Mary 
S.Walker, of Coatesville, and Mrs. Maude Cranston, of Modena; 18 
grandchildren,38 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren.

  The funeral will take place from the Roberts funeral home in this city Tuesday 
afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment will be in Hephzabah cemetery. Friends have 
been invited to call at the funeral home Monday evening."
