Samuel J. Greer, 73, died suddenly last night at his home, Oxford, RD 2.  Born 
in Hemlock, N.C., the son of the late James and Nancy Osborne Greer, he lived 
in Oxford for many years.  A retired farmer, Mr. Greer was also a veteran of 
World War I.  He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth L. Jones Greer, three sons, 
Ray, Mountain City, Tenn. And Joseph and James both of Oxford; six daughters, 
Nancy l., wife of Earl Cole, Ora, wife of Gene Sturgill, Margaret, wife of Guy 
Ball, Betty, wife of William Donnelly, Mabel, wife of Marvin DeGroat all of 
Oxford, and Dorothy, wife of William H. Buckaleu (sic), Los Angeles, Calif.; a 
sister, Ann, wife of James Aggers, of Cambelville (sic), Ky.; 12 grandchildren 
and two great children.

Greer- In Little Britain Township, Pa, on September 13, 1967.  Samuel J., 
husband of Elizabeth L. Jones of RD #2, Oxford, Pa in his 74th year.  Relatives 
and friends are invited to attend the funeral from Cauffman Funeral Home, 88 
Pine St., Oxford, Pa., on Sunday, September 17, at 2 p.m.  Interment Oxford 
Cemetery.  Friends may call on Saturday evening from 7 to 9.

Samuel J. Greer, 73, Oxford RD2 Little Britain Twp, died unexpectedly Wednesday 
at his home.  A veteran of World War I, he served with the U.S. Army, and was a 
retired farmer.  Born in Hemlock, N.C., he was a son of the late James and 
Nancy Osborne Greer.  Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth L. Jones Greer; and the 
following children, Ray f Mountain City, Tenn; Nancy L. wife of Earle Cole; 
Joseph, Ora, wife of Gene Sturgill; Margaret, wife of Guy Ball; James; Betty, 
wife of William Donnelly; Dorothy, wife of William Buckalew, all of Oxford; and 
Mabel, wife of Marvin DeGroat, Los Angeles, Calif.  Also 12 great grandchildren 
and a sister, Mrs. James Eggers, Campbellville, Ky
