The deceased was born a Castlebar, County Mayo, Ireland, and came to West Chester with her father Hugh Bowen on May 1st 1851 and since that time she has resided here continuously and has been a regular attendant at S. Agnes' Catholic Church. She leaves to mourn her loss four children: Mrs. John F. Lynch Magnolia Street; William J., Thomas F. and Edward D all of whom are in the business in this place. Besides the family she leaves a host of friends who knew her a great lover of home and who lived up to the precepts of her faith in a manner that was a lesson to all around her. She was the last of her family and the oldest member of St. Agnes Church.
