Hampton, 79, of 821 Madison St., Coatesville, died in Coatesville Hospital yesterday morning after an illness of six weeks. He was he husband of Hazel Whitworth Hampton, and was born in West Chester, the son of the late Frank P. and Sarah Lewis Hampton. He lived in Coatesville the past 53 years and prior to that in West Chester. Mr. Hampton was a bricklayer by trade and retired in 1959 after 25 years of service with Lukens Steel Co. He was a member of the Religious Society of Friends and attended the Coatesville meeting. He was also a member of Goddard Lodge 383, F&AM, Coatesville, the Coatesville Forest 56, Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Lukens Veterans Guild and the Retired Men’s club of Chester County. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Elmer W., and George S. Jr., both of Coatesville; two daughters, Elaine, wife of Charles H. Entrekin, Coatesville and Mildred, wife of Charles V. Ashenfelter, Holmes; five grandchildren. Ibid HAMPTON- Of Coatesville, on Monday, July 31, 1967, George S. Hampton, husband of Hazel Whitworth Hampton, in his 80th year. Relatives and friends are invited to attend services from the Robert A. Harris Funeral Home, successor to S. Paul Roberts, 130 E. Lincoln Hwy., Coatesville, on Thursday, Aug. 3, 1967, at 2 p.m. Interment Green Mount Cemetery, West Chester. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday evening after 7 o’clock.
