Hartenstine, died at her home in East Nantmeal Township, aged about 76 years. The deceased is survived by a husband and several relatives. A son, Walter, lived with his parents. A married daughter is Mrs. Ezra Gaston. The family has resided in that section of Chester County for many years. Mr. Hartenstine for years carried on shoemaking. They originally came, it is said, from Berks County. Mrs. Hartenstine was a church member and an estimable industrious woman. Ibid HARTENSTINE- In East Nantmeal Township, on November 19, 1916, Hannah, wife of Thomas Hartenstine, in the 76th year of her age. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the residence of Thomas Hartenstine, East Nantmeal Township, on Thursday, November 23, 1916. Meet at the house at 11 o’clock a.m. Services at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, Warwick, Pa., at 12 o’clock. Interment in adjoining cemetery. Conveyances will meet the 11.20 train at Warwick. Daily Local News, November 22, 1916 Hannah N., (nee Sands), wife of Thomas Hartenstine, of East Nantmeal Township, who died Sunday morning at six o’clock from a paralytic stroke, belonged to a family of unusual size. Deceased was in her 76th year. She is survived by the following children: Angeline, wife of Oscar Fillman, of Warwick; Walter, of Glen Moore; Carrie, of Philadelphia; May, wife of Ezra Gaston, of Marsh; Jennie, wife of Mr. Thompson, Kimberton. Her surviving brothers and sisters are: Mrs. Clara Caskey, of Philadelphia; Mrs. Robinson, of St. Peter’s, Miss Rose Sands, of Warwick; Mrs. Mary, widow of Caleb Rhoads and Kate, wife of Enoch Rhoads, of Birdsboro; James Sands, of Harrisburg, Mrs. Hartenstine was one of thirteen children, all of whom, save one, reached three score and ten. Mrs. Robinson is 84, Rev. John G. Sands is 82 and James Sands, of Pottstown, will be 80 in January. They were the children of the late Michael and Hoffman Sands.
