Born in Parker Ford, Mrs. Hedrick was a daughter of Newton K Savage, Elks National Home, Bedford VA and the late Edna (Huber) Savage. She lived most of her time in Parker Ford and lived at her last address 20 years. She is a 1937 graduate of Spring City High School and the played the vibraharp. Mrs. Hedrick also studied voice under Dr. John B. Duddy, D.M., Norristown. She was choir director of Parker Ford Baptist Church and was past choir director of Eastern Star, Spring City 518. Editor of "The Church Mouse", a baptist church paper, Mrs. Hedrick was a former church clerk and was a charter member of Parker Ford Women's Club. She was past president and secretary of the club. Also, Mrs. Hedrick was a sales clerk in Sears in the Norco Mall from which position she retired a year ago. Surviving with her father is a daughter, Mary Ellen, wife of Kenneth Plumely, Pottstown RD1; a son, John Newton Hedrick, Philadelphia. Three brothers, N Clyde Savage, Elverson RD ; Harold H Savage, Limerick Center Road, Royersford; Dr. John S Savage, Pittsford NY., two sisters, Marjorie, wife of Gerald Isett, Pottstown Star Route; Mrs. Doris S Holt, Charleston Heights, SC., and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2 pm Thursday from Parker Ford Baptist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. William K. Waterston, pastor. Interment will be in the church cemetery. White Memorial Home, Parker Ford, is in charge of arrangements. The Mercury, Pottstown PA, Friday, 3/19/1976: Funeral services for Mrs. Mary (Savage) Hedrick, 56, widow of John A Hedrick, Parker Ford, were Thursday from Parker Ford Baptist Church, The Rev. William K. Waterston, pastor, officiated. Interment was in the church cemetery. Bearers were: Harold H Savage, Kline Savage, Tim Plumley, Dr. John S. Savage, Wesley Hedrick, and Gerald Isett. Services also were conducted Thursday by Spring Ford Chapter 518, order of the Eastern Star. Worthy matron was Olive S Hyden and Belva M Kulp was worthy patron. Chaplain was Ethel S Stevenson. Jean Weigle was marshal and soloist was Lillian Bevan. Also participating in the service were Margaret McCormack, Lucy Smith, Marie Latsna, Clarice Shaner and Sharon Latshaw.
