Parents - Son of the late Thomas and Jane McCarter Hess, formerly of Parkesburg. Residence - He had been a resident of Parkesburg for many years. Mr. Hess had resided in West Chester for the past five years. Military - He was a veteran of the first World War and was a member of the American Legion of Parkesburg. Brothers and sisters - Samuel, of Bridgeport; William, of Atglen; Nellie, wife of David Sharpe, Sr., of West Chester; and Mrs. Jennie Smale, of Parkesburg, and many nephews and nieces. Additional Comments: Born Abt. September 1895. Buried June 2, 1945 at Upper Octorara Upper Octorara Presbyterian Cemetery, Parkesburg, Chester Co, PA.
