Spouse - The late Thomas Hess
Place of death - At the home of her son, William Hess, Atglen 
Cause of death - Complications due to her advanced years. She was confined to 
her room for three days. 
Residence - Formerly of Parkesburg 
Church affiliation - A member of the Parkesburg Methodist Church 
Survivors - Two daughters Nellie, wife of Daniel Sharp, West Chester, and 
Jennie, wife of Roy Smale, Parkesburg, and three sons, William, Atglen, Chester 
Co; Samuel, Bridgeport, Montgomery Co; George, West Chester. Twenty-one 
grandchildren, twenty-seven great grandchildren and one great great 
grandchild,  
Funeral - Wilde Funeral Home, September 12, 1940 at 10:30 a.m. 
Buried - Upper Octorara Cemetery, Parkesburg, Chester Co, PA  

Additional Comments:
Maiden name was either McCarter, McCarty, or McCarraher.
