He was highly regarded in the neighborhood, being of Friendly inclinations and a steady industrious citizen. In politics he was a Republican. In his youth, Preston Hibberd was for a number of years in the employ of Truman Yarnall, Willistown. He married a Miss Weir, who died, and afterward he married her sister Matilda Weir. For twelve years he lived in Chester, but returned to the farm of Susanna Yarnall, where he remained until his death. Four sons survive him, Harry and Edward who are married, and John and Iliff (sic) who are single and living at home. Daily Local News, December 3, 1906 HIBBARD- In Willistown, on Sixth-day, 11th mo., 30, 1906, Preston Hibberd, in his 79th year. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from his late residence on third-day, 12th mo., 4th, 1906. Meet at the house at 1 p.m. Interment at Willistown Friends’ Burying Ground. Carriages will meet trolleys leaving 63d and Market at 11 o’clock and West Chester at 11.15 at Gradyville.
