Montgomery Ledger, Pottstown - Tuesday 1/18/1887 edition
John Hipple, aged 83, of West Vincent township, Chester county, died on Friday 
last, from the effects of an injury received from a falling tree some time 
ago.  He was widely known and well respected.  Deceased was an uncle of W R 
Schuler, of Pottstown, and had other relatives and friends in this borough and 
vicinity. The funeral will take place on Thursday, January 12th, to meet at 
the house at 10:00 a.m., and proceed to St Matthew's burial ground for 
interment. 

Additional Comments:
[error in the date of the 12th, as it was on a Wednesday.  His tombstone at St 
Matthew's UCC shows Jan 15/1887 as date of death.  Friday before the newspaper 
notice was Jan 14, 1887.  The funeral date was probably Thursday Jan 20
