Montgomery Ledger, 2/24/1885:
Mrs. Elizabeth Hoffman, widow of George Hoffman, departed this life on Monday, 
the 16th, at her residence in East Coventry township, Chester  county in her 
87th year.  Her death resulted from old age and other ailments. Her husband 
died about 40 years ago.  Of their children, three are still living. Mrs. Mary 
A. Brower residing at home, Nathan Hoffman of Pottstown, and Hiram Hoffman of 
Germantown.  The deceased, whose maiden name was Holman, is the last of a well-
known family of 3 brothers and two sisters, one of whom was Daniel Holman of 
North Coventry (father of Dr. J.B. Holman), who died many years  ago.  She was 
an estimable lady, a long time member of St Vincent's Reformed church, where 
she will be laid away to rest on Thursday next; the funeral at 10:30am at the 
house.
