Wife Seriusly ill Native of East Coventry and Millwright and Boat Builder by trade - Retired about 10 years ago. Nathan Hoffman, one of the founders of the Ellis Keystone Agricultural Works, and a member of the Board of Directors of that firm since the beginning, died yesterday morning at 6:20 at his late residence 59 Hanover Street, aged 89 years, 11 months and 27 days. He had been in failing health, for the last year, being confined to his room for that time. For the last week, his condition was so critical that his death was expected at any time. His aged widow, Mary, his sole survivor, who is now 86 years of age, is also in a serious condition. She is suffering with symptoms of pneumonia. Last Christmas, the couple celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary. Three children were born to the couple, all having died years ago. Deceased was born in E Coventry and was a millwright and boat builder in his early days. He later came to Pottstown and with his partner, John Ellis, founded the Ellis Keystone plant in 1859. At the shop, Mr. Hoffman was engaged as a patternmaker, which occupation he pursued until about ten years ago, when he retired. He was a lifelong member of the Brethren Church in East Coventry. The funeral will be held on Thursday morning at 10:30 from his late residence. Interment will be made in Brower's cemetery, Parkerford [Oak Grove].''
