Daily Local News, Feb. 11,1881
DIED- Mr. Wm.B.Hoopes, who has been ill for some time past at his farm, near
Thoorndale, died on Thursday morning. He is a man of considerable wealth, and is
widely known in this community, having boarded at Bolderidge's Hotel, this
place, for several years past. He will be buried on Monday, at Woodward's
cemetery, Lancaster county. His wife was buried at that place about two years
ago. Mr. Hoopes leaved no children but several brothers and sisters."


Additional Comments:
William B. Hoopes who raised Hannah Whitaker, generously bought Hannah a house
in Coatesville at 111 N. Second Avenue. Hannah received this property at his
death. The house remained in our family for over 100 years.
