Dr. Joseph Huggins, of 463 East Lancaster Avenue, Downingtown, retired 
Philadelphia and Downingtown dentist, passed away this morning at his home 
following an illness of about a year. He was in his 70th year.

A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Dentistry class of 
1897, Dr. Huggins practiced dentistry in Philadelphia and Downingtown for 47 
years.  He retired a year ago due to failing health.

He was a member of the California Historical Society, the Philadelphia County 
Dental Society, the Stomatological Club of Philadelphia, the Academy of 
Stomatology, the Mount Union Rod and Gun Club, the Union League of 
Philadelphia, and the Minquas Fire Company, in Downingtown.

Born in Fort Nisqually, Washington, a son of the late Edward and Lettia Work 
Huggins, Dr. Huggins is survived by two daughters, Clara, wife of J. Archibald 
Morton, of Los Angeles, Calif., and Louise, wife of Charles D. Hunter, of 
Tacoma, Washington, and a son, Joseph w., of San Francisco, Calif.  Mrs. 
Huggins, who was Helen Virginia Fox before her marriage, passed away five 
years ago.

HUGGINS- In Downingtown, on Tuesday, September 19, Dr. Joseph Huggins, husband 
of the late Helen Virginia Fox Huggins, in the 70th year of his age.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral from his 
late residence, 463 E. Lancaster Ave., Downingtown, on Friday, Sept. 22, at 2 
p.m.  Interment private.
