Johnson, daughter of Maris G. and Dolly Johnson died of tuberculosis on Sunday at the home of her parents on East Church Street. She had been sick about six months and was in the 15th year of her age. She is survived by her parents and several brothers and sisters. Daily Local News, July 12, 1920 JOHNSON- In Downingtown, on July 11, 1920, Lucy E. daughter of Maris G. and Dolly Johnson, in the 15th year of her age. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral with out further notice from her parent's residence, 159 E. Church St., on Wednesday, July 14, 1920. Meet at the house at 1 o'clock. Services in Bethel U.A.M.E. church at 2 o'clock. Interment at Lindley Hill. (Researchers Note: the same funeral notice is printed on July 13, 1920) Daily Local News, July 15, 1920 On Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock the funeral of Lucy Johnson took place at the Bethel U.A.M.E church on Prospect Avenue. She was in the 15th year of her age, and was the daughter f Maris and Dolly Johnson. The services were in charge of Rev. E.B. Lyons, Pastor of the church. The Rev. Mr. Lynx, a former pastor of the church also assisted with the services. The bearers were as follows: Edith Tinson, Lillian States, Elisa Mills, Mae Brown, Catherine Sinns and Sarah Thomas.
