All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/pafiles.htm ************************************************ Daily Republican August 23 1945 Clare B King, 44 assistant cashier at the Farmers and Mechanics-National Bank and one of the community's best known residents died suddenly at 4:37 a m today at his home, 817 Gay Street. Mr King had been in poor health for some time following a recent operation and death was attributed to a heart condition. He retired at midnight last night without complaining of feeling ill. He was born in Norristown the son of Mrs. Mabel Buckwalter King, now residing in Kimberton, and the late J Pierce King but spent his boyhood in Kimberton. An employee of the local bank for the past 22 years, Mr King was a member of St John's Lutheran Church, president of the Phoenixville Recreation Commission and a member of the School Board. He was a member and past president of the Kiwanis Club and treasurer of the Buildmore Building and Loan Association. In addition to his mother and widow, Clare Campbell King, Mr King is survived by two children, a son Calre B King Jr and a doughtier Anita Jane King. Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 2:30 p m t the F B Neiman and Son Funeral Home, 241-43 First Avenue with interment at St Peter's (Upper Pikeland) Lutheran Cemetery.
