DIED...Daniel Landis, an old resident of North Coventry, who has been ill for 
several weeks past, departed this life on Sunday, April 7th, in the 75th year 
of his age.  Deceased was the father of Mr. D.L.[sic W.] LANDIS, of the firm of 
Landis and Snell, Pottstown.  He was a quiet, unobstrusive citizen, who 
possessed the esteem of a large circle of friends and relatives.  His funeral 
will take place on Thursday, April 11th, from the residence of his son-in-law, 
E.B. JOHN, in North Coventry.

Daily Pottstown Ledger, 4/9/1878 and Montgomery County Ledger:
DIED:  Landis, on the 7th inst., Daniel Landis in the 75th year of his age.  
The relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral on Thursday next, 
April 11th at 10:00 am from the residence of his son-in-law E B John without 
further notice.
