FRED LAWTON OBIT 1953 20 June 1953 Daily Local News J. FRED LAWTON J. FRED LAWTON, Tanguy farmer and Media trucker and machinist, died early yesterday morning at Crozier Hospital, Chester, where he had been a patient since Monday. He had been ill since October. He was 72. Born at Tanguy, he was a son of the late JABEZ and ALICE LAWTON. He farmed for many years at Tangy, was in the trucking business at Media, and worked last as a machinist for Baldwin-Lima-Hamilton Co. Mr. LAWTON lived at 413 Sandy Bank rd., Media. He was a member of Media Methodist church. He was a member of the Artisan's Order of Mutual Protection, Lodge 42, Media. He is survived by his wife, the former ETHEL BROADBELT; a daughter, Mrs. LYDA KNIGHT, of California; a son, EDWARD B., of Media; four granddaughters; one grandson; four sisters, Mrs. LAURA E. GARRETT and Mrs. SARA L. SHUFF, both of Philadelphia; Mrs. MARTHA L. SMITH, of Camden, and LILLIAN B., of West Chester; and two brothers, J. LAWTON, of Tanguy; and HARRY, of Chester Plaza. ********** LAWTON--Of Media, on June 19, 1953, J. FRED, husband of ETHEL BROADBELT LAWTON. Funeral services from the Patterson Funeral Home, Baltimore Ave. and Monroe St., Media, Pa., on Monday, June 23, at 3 P.M. DST. Interment Media Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday evening.
