Her suffering was intense, but she was always patient and had a smile for all She possessed an exemplary character, was a consistent and ardent Christian, a life long member of Good Will M.E. Church. She was a kind and devoted wife, a fond and affectionate mother. Mrs. Leighton is survived by her heart stricken husband, two daughters and a son- Mrs. Laura E Irwin, Wilmington; Mrs. Sallie S. McCannon, Barneston, and D. Elmer, Barneston. Also four brothers and three sisters- David Richards, Coatesville; Howard Richards, St Mary’s; Lybrand Richards, Coatesville; Wesley Richards, St. Mary’s; Mrs. Mary Mauger, Elverson; Mrs. Harriet Evans, Geigertown, and Mrs. Laura Mauger, St. Mary’s. Much sympathy is felt for the family. Daily Local News, July 6, 1912 LEIGHTON- Near Barneston, on July 3, 1912, Rebecca, wife of Wayne Leighton, aged 66 years, 8 months, 10 days. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral without further notice from her late residence on Monday, July 8, 1912, at 10:30 o’clock a.m. Services at Good Will M.E. Church. Interment in adjoining cemetery. Carriages will meet trains at Barneston, D & L. R. R., and Conestoga P.& R.
