Lindsley, in her 83d year. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral without further notice from the residence of her son-in- law, Walter M. Fisher, on Tuesday, July 2. Meet at the house at 1:30 o’clock D.S.T. Services in Hopewell M.E. Church at 2:30 o’clock. Interment in the adjoining cemetery. Friends may call Monday evening, 7 to 9 o’clock. Daily Local News, July 1, 1929 Mrs. Prudence A. Lindsley Mrs. Prudence A. Lindsley was released from suffering Friday morning, June 28, in her 83d year. Mrs. Lindsley was the widow of Elijah B. Lindsley, who fought in the Civil War, Company C, 16th Regiment, and daughter of Milton and Rebecca McCannon. She was born in Londonderry Township, and the last one of a large family. Mrs. Lindsley suffered for years with asthma, but always maintaining a courageous and optimistic outlook on life. Rarely, if ever, has it been our privilege to know a woman more thoroughly vers3ed in the trend of present-day thought, writes a friend.! She was a devout member of Hopewell M.E. Church and attended regularly until disease made its inroads. She was a lover of the House of the Lord. She made her home with her daughter, Hattie, who stood bravely and loyally by the side of her mother, and where she received her friends with the brightest of smiles and the warmest of welcomes. The following children survive and were at her bedside when she passed away: Rebecca S., wife of Albert R. Fisher, Modena; Mabel A. Lindsley, Philadelphia; Mary E., wife of Clifton M. Walton, Downingtown; Hattie M., wife of Walter Fisher, Lyndell; Geo. W. Lindsley, Lyndell; Edith V., wife of D.H. Farra, Malvern. There are also several grand children and great grand children. Daily Local News, July 6, 1929 Funeral services for the late Mrs. Prudence A. Lindsley were held in Hopewell M.E. Church on Tuesday afternoon and interment was made in the family lot in adjoining cemetery. The services were largely attended by relatives and friends and were in charge of Rev. M.R. Meredith, of Hopewell Church, assisted by Rev. Mr. Hough, of East Brandywine Baptist Church, and Rev. Jos. Shubert, of Downingtown Baptist Church, all paying tribute to a patient, devoted mother. The choir sang two selections, “Asleep in Jesus” and “Sometime”. Mrs. Wm. Kaiser and Mrs. B.A. Hughes sang by request “In the Garden”. Miss Myrna Pyle at the cons! ole. The floral tributes were many and beautiful and were carried by Hazel, Geneva and Edward Fisher, Modena; Sadie Eleanor, Harriet and Dorothy Farra, Malvern. The pall-bearers were grandsons of the deceased, George Fisher, Walter Fisher, Clifton Walton, Earl Walton, Frank Fisher and Benj. Fisher.
