He had attended St. Agnes’ Church in the morning, later suffering a heart attack, the end coming quickly. He had been in good health previously. Mr. McNamee was born in Ireland, coming to Chester County with his parents, William and Mary Smith McNamee, when a child. In his early life he was a farmer in Birmingham Township, but after coming to West Chester, in 1891, he entered the employ of the West Chester Street Railway Company. For nearly thirty years he served as a motorman on the various lines of the company, his last service being on the High street line, where he remained until the cars were discontinued on December 1, 1929. He married Miss Mary Cannon, whose death occurred ten years ago. Ten children survive: Mrs. Sarah Baker, Philadelphia; William B., Princeton, N.J.; Joseph, Llanerch; John, of Butler; Mrs. Mary Pratt, Brooklyn, N.Y.; Anna, wife of Horace Wilds, Philadelphia; David, Philadelphia; Stephen, Ardmore; Frank, West Chester, and Florence, wife of Martin Sheridan, West Chester. There are twenty- eight grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. He was a member of St. Agnes’ Catholic Church and the Holy Name Society. Relatives and friends, also the Holy Name Society, are invited to attend the funeral at his late residence, No. 25 West Barnard St., on Wednesday, the 19th inst. Meet at the house at 9 o’clock. High Mass at St. Agnes’ Church at 10 o’clock. Interment at St. Agnes’ Cemetery. Friends may call at his late residence Tuesday evening. Members of the Holy Name Society will meet in front of the church after Benediction Tuesday evening.
