C. Star, July 24, 1913 W. C. Star July 24, 1913 Harvey D. Moore The death of Harvey D. Moore 242 West Gay street, has removed from the Grand- Army of the Republic another honored veteran and from West Chester a most highly respected citizen Mr. Moore answered to the summons of the great call yesterday afternoon at 1.15 o'clock. He was in the 76th year of his age. He had been a resident of Chester county for the past fifty years, following the occupation of farming and retired from active life about three years ago, when he moved to West Chester. Deceased was born in Delaware in 1837. At the outbreak of the Civil War Mr. Moore enlisted in the 49th Pennsylvania Regiment and saw four years of active service. He was a veteran of two of the greatest battles of the war, the battle of Gettysburg and Antietam. He was a member of the Henry R. Guss Post and Eastern Star Lodge, I.O.O.F. at Unionville. Mr. Moore is survived by his widow, Sara J. Miller Moore, and three children, Meyers H. of 138 East Gay street; Franklin J., South Walnut street, and Mary A., wife of Thomas B. Eavenson, of West Goshen. Three brothers also survive him: Lewis A., of Unionville; Jesse, of Hephzibah, and Isaac N., of Hopedale, Illinois.
