Moore, of near Hephzibah, aged 77 years, died early yesterday as the result of an accident the day before Christmas, when he was struck by a team belonging to W. W. Meridith, of Modena. One wrist was dislocated and he was otherwise hurt, the shock from this contributing to his death. For years he had been a most active and energetic citizen. He was formerly a carpenter, but relinquished work at his trade some years ago and had worked at odd jobs in various places since that time. He was a member of McCall Post, of this place, and served during the Civil War in the Forty-ninth Pennsylvania Volunteer Regiment. He was a member of the Hephzibah Baptist Church. Surviving him are his widow, Elizabeth J., and the children are: Charles E. Moore, foreman at the Megaree Paper Mill, Modena; William J., Coatesville; Lewis B. and Benjamin R., at home, and one daughter, Mrs. Sallie Leibernight [Levenite], Kennett Square. Two brothers, Lewis, living near Unionville, and Isaac M., of Hopewell, Kazwell county, Ill., also survive.
