About two years ago he had a paralytic stroke which did not entirely disable him, but from the effects of which he never recovered. Mr. Moore was a carpenter and was engaged in that trade until about four years previous to his affliction. He resided in the township where he died twenty years and was regarded as one of the most respectable citizens of that locality. Although he never held office his judgment in securing the services of capable men for official positions was relied upon to a large extent. By his unassuming deportment and freedom from interference with the affairs of his neighbors deceased made numerous warm friends, who often spoke of him as a model citizen and exemplary man. The following named children survive the deceased: Harvey Moore, near West Chester; Jesse Moore, Doe Run; Isaac Moore, of Indiana, and Lydia Ann, at the homestead.
