She was 35 years old. Mrs. Mosteller was a daughter of Arthur and Olivia Adams Mantel. Besides her husband, eight children survive. Daily Republican March 1, 1938 Mrs. David Mosteller, 35, of Bacton Hills, Charlestown Township, died today in Homeopathic Hospiital, West Chester, of burns sustained in her home last Thursday afternoon. Mrs. Mosteller was the mother of eight small children, one of whom, a five year old boy, is credited with saving their home from destruction. The mother was at home with two children, aged three and five, and was working in the kitchen when she is believed to have fainted and fell against the kitchen range. Her clothing caught fire and she was horribly burned. The five year old boy threw water on the blaze which spread to kitchen furniture, but practically all the children's clothing which had been placed in a basket awaiting ironing was consumed. After the boy had extinguished the blaze he called a neighbor and Mrs. Mosteller was taken to the hospital where no hope was held for her recovery. The family is in destitute circumstances and in dire need of clothing for the eight children, six of whom were in school at the time of the tragedy. Mr. Mosteller, a farmhand, was at work. Coroner Hughes, of Paoli, who investigated this morning, issued a certificate of accidental death.
