Katie Mosteller Succumbs at 77

Mrs. Katie M. (Simmers) Mosteller, 77 widow of Chester C. Mosteller, lifelong 
resident of Chester Springs area, died in her home Sunday at 8 a.m. following an 
illness of several months.

Mrs. Mosteller was a member of St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church, the Winadosi 
Society and the Ladies Auxiliary of Kimberton Fire Company. Her husband, a rural 
mail carrier many years, died in 1949.

Surviving are three children: Russell C. Mosteller, West Chester; Oliver W. 
Mosteller, East Vincent, and Katherine, wife of Robert F. Smiley, Chester 
Springs, and nine grandchildren.

Funeral services in charge of the Rev. Harold L. Hasenauer, pastor of St. 
Matthew’s Lutheran Church, will be at the Nelson Funeral Home 331 New Street, 
Spring City, Wednesday at 2 p.m. Interment will be in St. Matthew’s Reformed 
Cemetery.



MOSTELLER – In Chester Springs, on Sunday, August 20, 1961. Katie M. Mosteller 
widow of Chester C. Mosteller, aged 77 years. Relatives and friends are invited 
to attend the funeral at Nelson Funeral Home, 331 New Street, Spring City, on 
Wednesday at 2 p.m. Interment St. Matthew’s Reformed Cemetery. Friends may call 
at the funeral home Tuesday evening, 7 to 9.
