He was in his 72nd year. Mr. Newlin was born on a farm just outside of Coatesville, and lived his entire life in that section. His wife died about twenty-three years ago. Three children survive the deceased. They are Jane Newlin, Mrs. C. Uting and William Newlin, jr., all of Philadelphia. Another son, Alfred Newlin, died about seven years ago. One brother, Frank, with whom he lived for the past few years, and a sister Mrs. Schrack Bickel. of Coatesville, also survive. Daily Local News, Janaury 11, 1927 Willilam Newlin, who died at the home of his brother, Frank Newlin, at Rock Run, on Saturday night, was well-known in this city where he conducted a livery stable in the rear of the Stephenson House, now the Hotel Grand, for many years. He was a son of the late John Newlin and was born and reared on the farm, part of which is now Newlinville, just south of the city. He was one of the prosperous liverymen whom the advent of the automobile knocked out of business and had been living retired for the past ten years. Daily Local News, January 13, 1927 The funeral of William H. Newlin was held yesterday from the residence of his sister, Mrs. Schrack Bickel, 320 East Chestnut Street, and was very largely attended by his former friends here. Interment was made at Hephzibah. Rev. John T. Fox, pastor of the Trinity Lutheran Church, West Coatesville, was in charge of the service.
