Ortlip aged 78 years, 6 months and 14 days. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral without further notice from his late residence, 120 Broad Street, Spring City, on Wednesday, October 23. All services at the home at 2:30 o'clock. Interment at Zion's cemetery. Friends may call at the home Tuesday evening from 7 to 8 o'clock. The Mercury Pottstown, Pennsylvania Thursday October 24, 1935 ADRIAN B ORTLIP Funeral services for Adrian B. Ortlip, Spring City, were conducted at his home, 120 Broad Street, yesterday. All services were at the house at 2:30 o'clock, with the Rev. J. W. Tindall, Spring City M. E. pastor, officiating. Burial was made in Zion's cemetery. The bearers were seven sons, as follows: Marvin, George, Joseph, Oliver, James, Harold and Arthur Ortlip. Directors Kimes and Nelson supervised arrangements. Ortlip – The family of the late Adrian B. Ortlip wishes to hereby acknowledge with gratitude the kindness and sympathy and floral tributes extended during their recent sorrow and the use of cars at the funeral. Daily Republican October 21, 1935 Adrian B. Ortlip, oldest native resident of Spring City, died at his home, 120 Broad Street, yesterday morning. He had been ill for weeks, following a heart attack. He was aged 78 years, 6 months and 14 days. Mr. Ortlip was born at 159 Hall Street, Spring City, a son of the late Henry and Rebecca (nee Force) Ortlip. Early in life he entered business at Main and Hall Streets, the present site of the Spring City Foundry Company Plant. His first venture was in the restaurant business. During his business life, Mr. Ortlip built up seven grocery stores in the Twin-Boroughs, several years later being conducted by his sons. He retired from business 20 years ago, his last store being on the Spring City Supply Company, now controlled by two of his sons. He was a member of Spring City Methodist Church. His wife died February 9, 1934. There survive seven sons and five daughters as follows: Marvin A. Ortlip and George Andrew Ortlip, Philadelphia; Joseph O. Ortlip, Royersford; Oliver C. Ortlip, Philadelphia, Mrs. William English, Syracuse, New York, Mrs. Grace Moyer, Reading; Mrs. W. Lynn Riggleman, Richmond, Virginia; James G. Ortlip, Harold B. Ortlip, and Arthur H. Ortlip, all of Spring City and Alice Ruth Ortlip at home. The funeral will be conducted from his late residence Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Burial will be maid in Zion's Cemetery.
