Edward M. Paup, Honey Brook township, was killed in an accident in England according to a telegram to his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John M. Paup, which reads as follows: “The Secretary of War desires me to express his deep regret that your son, Cpl. Edward M. Paup, was killed in England, 21 March, 1945, in a vehicle accident. Confirming letter follows. {signed} “ULIO, Adj. Gen’l” Cpl. Paup had been overseas for a year and a half. A brother, Pfc. John L. Paup is also overseas and has been wounded in action. The two brothers had a reunion in a hospital in England in February, where John is a patient. --------------------------- 22 Jul 1948 The body of Edward M. Paup, 28, son of John M. and Viola Filman Paup, Fontaine, Honey Brook, R. D., who was killed March 21st, 1945, while in the line of duty, and who was buried at Cambridge, England, will arrive at the funeral parlors of Archie S. Maclean, in Coatesville, tomorrow. The funeral will be held on Sunday afternoon from the Archie S. Maclean funeral home in Coatesville, with the Rev. George M. McKinley, rector of St. John’s Church, compass, in charge, and military services conducted by the American Legion Post of Honey Brook. Interment will be at St. Mark’s Cemetery, Church Hill. The young man enlisted in August, 1942, at New Cumberland, and after training was sent to England with the Eighth Air Force. He was born at Downington, and had attended St. Mark’s Church, Church Hill. Besides his parents, he is survived by two sisters, Grace, wife of George Diehm, Douglassville, and Beatrice, wife of Andrew Fregede, at home, and a brother, John, also at home. He had been employed, before entering the service, by the Bolich coal and Lumber Company, Honey Brook. ---------------------------- 26 Jul 1948 Corp. Edward M. Paup, who was killed in the line of duty in England on March 21, 1946, was accorded full military honors as he was laid to his final resting place in St. Mark’s Episcopal Cemetery near Honey Brook yesterday. The military ritual was in charge of Honey Brook American Legion Post 422 and Honey Brook VFW Post 5997. Funeral services were held from Archie S. Maclean’s funeral home in this city at 2:30 with Rev. George s. McKiknley, rector of St. John’s Episcopal Church at Companss, officiating. The services were largely attended. Commander John Glauner of the American Legion Post, and Commander Howard Patterson, jr., of the VFW post officiated at the military rites at the grave. Members of the two posts acted as guard of honor at the funeral service and the grave. There was a profusion of beautiful floral tributes. Pall bearers were: W. Trupe, D. D. Williams, Ray Ammon, H.
