NATHAN << PENNYPACKER>> , Esq. in his 63d year. Seldom have we been called upon to notice the death of one so estimable and beloved among the whole circle of his acquaintance.- Through the partiality of his fellow citizens, he was first honored with a seat in the Legislature in the year 1812. At this time parties ran high, and after an interval of one year he was again returned as a member from this county, in the year 1814. From this period he retired to private life, and remained in its quiet enjoyment until 1830, when somewhat against his inclination, he was again called to take his seat in the Legislature. His health by this time became enfeebled, was not in any wise improved by his residence at Harrisburg, and at the close of the session, he finally retired from public life. As a legislator he was always watchful of the public interest and served his constituents with a zeal and fidelity satisfactory to them, and honorable to himself. In private life, he was all that could be wished. Beloved and respected by all who knew him, and particularly by the community in which he lived, for the amenity of his manners, his obliging disposition, his kind heartedness and devoted friendship for the poor; he will survive in the recollections of his acquaintances, as an example for the imitation of us all. He has left a widow and four children to mourn his loss.
