Almost a Centenarian
Hester Porter, widow of the late Samuel Porter, of West Fallowfield, died at 
the residence of her son, Richard R. Porter, in the same township, January 
18th, 1891.  Deceased was born in Lewistown, Delaware, on May 18th, 1791, and 
was therefore 99 years and 8 months old.  Three sons and a daughter survive 
her.  Helen Porter was a colored woman, highly respected during her long life 
and was a member of the A.M.E. Church since childhood.  She was buried on the 
22d inst at Chatham.
