Samuel Pyle, one of Kennett Square’s best known and venerable citizens, a man 
thoroughly identified with the town and surrounding neighborhood, passed 
quietly away at the home of his daughter, in Marlborough, this morning.  The 
deceased was 78 years of age, and was born in Kennett Township.  He was a 
bricklayer by trade, and worked for many years with his brother, Thomas, a 
carpenter, erecting a large number of buildings in Kennett Square.  A 
daughter, Rachel, wife of Martin Cloud of Marlborough, is his only survivor.
