He was born on July 22, 1799, at Hill Church, South Wales, Great Britain, landed in Philadelphia, Sunday May 13th, 1832, came to Phoenixville, February 12th, 1833, and has been almost uninterruptedly a citizen of this town since. He was eminently a sober, a God fearing man, and upright in all his dealings with his fellow men. As a member of the Baptist Church he was regular in his attendance and took an interest n all its doings. He leaves three children, none of whom live here. He died sooner than he expected to, as it was his desire that when he did depart from this world it should be from Phoenixville. His remains will be brought here on this Saturday, at 12:30. Services in the Baptist Church. Interment at Morris Cemetery. Ibid~ RICHARDS- At Germantown, Philadelphia, Tuesday, May11th, 1880, at his son (sic) residence, John Richards, of Phoenixville, aged 80 years. 9 months and 19 days. Funeral this Saturday upon arrival of noon train. Services at the Baptist Church. Interment at Morris Cemetery.
