Son of the late John and Angeline Roberts Scholl, he was born in Pughtown and was a graduate of the former Hawley Academy, Pughtown and the Arms Private School, Pottstown. He was the last living employe (sic) of the old Delaware River and Lancaster Railroad, which became defunct many years ago. He was freight agent and ticket agent at Pughtown station and also had charge of the mails at the age of 18. He and his father owned and operated a creamery. He also had an interest in a coal and feed business. He married the former Annie Grubb in 1896 and the couple resided at “Buena Vista” farm, a 47-acre estate in Pughtown. Here they had a butter, egg and milk route. Mr. Scholl was an avid Republican and never missed voting from the time he became of age. His wife died 11 years ago and he went to live with his daughter, Mrs. Ambrose Malenke. He was a member of Brownback’s United Church of Christ, Spring City Rd. In addition to Mrs. Malenke, he is survived by two other daughters, Mrs. Grace Miller Seuss, Philadelphia, and Mrs. Wilmer Hahn, West Cedarville Road, Pottstown RD. Also 15 grand children, 21 great grand children and one great- great grandchild. Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 in the White Funeral Home, Parker Ford, with burial in Brownback’s Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home tomorrow night from 7 to 9.
