He was 75 years of age and was in his usual health Monday. The intense heat of last week operating upon a system enfeebled by old age, is attributed as the cause of Mr. Shaner's death. He was in the employ of Rev. H. U. Sebring, manager of the camp meeting, and made himself generally useful about the grounds. An inquest was held over the remains, and after hearing the testimony of Dr. DeLong, a verdict of sudden death in accordance with the facts was rendered. Dr. C. A. Yocum, of Pottstown, who was on the grounds in attendance upon his mother, who became ill while in camp, was summoned immediately after the discovery of Mr. Shaner's dead body, but he left camp in the morning before the inquest was concluded. Mr. Shaner is the father of Mahlon Shaner of Cedarville. This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/pafiles/ File size: 1.5 Kb
