Jesse Shaner, an aged citizen of East Vincent, residing near Brownback's church,
died suddenly on Sunday evening, the 11th inst. He retired to bed in the evening
apparently as well as usual, and some time afterwards his wife heard him
breathing heavily. She hastened to summon the assistance of a neighbor, but by
the time she returned his spirit had taken its flight. Mr. Shaner was about 82
years of age. It is supposed that death resulted from apoplexy.
