                      WALTER M. SHARPLESS - COTTON MERCHANT
                                   5 August 1946
 
          WALTER M. SHARPLESS, for many years a cotton merchant with
      offices at 2nd and Chestnut sts., died yesterday at his home 
      325 S. Orange st., Media.
 
          MR. SHARPLESS was a life member of the Union League and had
      lived in Media since he was 4 years old. He is survived by his wife,
      MELLIE EDWARDS SHARPLESS; a brother, a sister and a niece.
      Funeral services and burial will be private.
